Vedanta Foundation, the fully funded charitable trust of Vedanta Resources Plc with a heart for social development will offers basic computer coaching classes and vocational programs like tailoring and beautician to the Children, spouse, relatives of police families in Mumbai. In this venture Vedanta Foundation will be providing computers, trainers, exam organization, certification whereas the local police personnel’s would be assisting in mobilizing students from police colonies.
Vedanta Foundation planning to start many more centers at various locations like Marol, Mahim etc and will be assisting them for suitable placement opportunities after completing their courses. Vedanta Foundation recently organized a placement drive at Vithalwadi, Ulhasnagar where companies like Serco, Yoma International, DKI Apparel, Pamac Finserve Pvt Ltd, Axis bank, Mc Donald’s, CCD and many more came forward for recruitments.
While inaugurating the new centre Mr. Rakesh Maria, Police Commissioner of Greater Mumbai Police said I am delighted to be associated with Vedanta Foundation and grateful to have introduced vocational training programs for police welfare. “I am sure these efforts would be soon acknowledged by many more organizations who would come forward to contribute for such noble cause”.

Speaking at the launch Dr. Lona Nayak, CEO-Vedanta Foundation said “In India we have more than 300 centers where we provide basic computer education, tailoring, Beautician and Mehendi design etc to below poverty line talented aspirants. Till today we have trained more than Ten lakh people across the nation” added Dr. Nayak.
