WB: Dog’s photo on ITI entrance admit card, minister orders to arrest victim student

Kolkata, June 29 : West Bengal Minister for Technical Education and Training Ujjal Biswas on Monday directed the police to lodge an FIR against Industrial Training Institute (ITI) entrance applicant Soumyadip Mahata who claimed that his photo was replaced with a dog’s picture in his admit card.

Soumyadip Mahata (18), who is a student from West Medinipur district in West Bengal, earlier claimed that he had downloaded his admit card for ITI entrance examination from the official website of West Bengal State Council for Vocational Training (WBSCVT) and found a picture of dog on the admit card.

Ujjal Biswas said the student was trying to malign the state government and directed the police to arrest Soumyadip Mahata.

The examination, which was scheduled to be held on Sunday, was cancelled after receiving reports of question paper leakage in several areas. It has been rescheduled to July 5.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has ordered CID probe into the matter.
